(I) Breeding of breeds

Sutai pig is a new lean pig breed developed from the Sutai pig Breeding Center of Suzhou City (now the Sutai Group) based on Taihu pigs. (b) Physical appearance

(III) Production performance

1, growth and development

During the period of weaning ~ 50 kg, the daily gain is 5,7025.6 grams, and the daily weight gain is 7,102,8.8 grams during the 50-90kg phase.

2, reproductive performance

4, carcass quality

(IV) Hybridization and Utilization

Sutai pig is a female parent. It is a good model to produce “Sutai” hybrid pigs by crossbreeding with Great White boars or Landrace boars. Sotai hybrid pig carcass lean meat rate of 59 to 60%, 90 kg body weight at the age of 160 to 165 days, 25-90 kg stage daily gain of 700 to 750 grams, feed conversion rate of 1:2.98.

(v) Feeding management features

1, Sutai pig breeding

When boars are 7 to 8 months old and they have a weight of 80 to 90 kg or more, they can start breeding. Sows are suitable for 6 to 7 months of age and 70 kg or more in weight. The average estrus cycle of the sow was 20.3 days and the estrus duration was 3.95 days. The characteristics of the sows are stunned, vulva red or swollen, moist, and with thin mucus outflow.
