The Second Army of the Great Changhai Hospital developed a congenital heart occluder

Release date: 2010-02-01

After 11 years of research and development, Professor Qin Yongwen from the Department of Cardiology, Changhai Hospital of the Second Military Medical University, successfully developed a new type of occluder for interventional treatment of defect congenital heart disease, breaking the monopoly of imported occluder and reducing the cost of surgery by nearly 70%. Moreover, the success rate of interventional therapy is over 96%. This series of achievements recently won the second prize of the 2009 National Science Progress Award.

In the past, the operation used were imported occlusion devices, and the cost of ventricular septal defect sealing operation was as high as 60,000 yuan. In order to reduce the burden on patients, Qin Yongwen has independently developed occluder devices since 1998, and developed four types of chambers: zero-edge eccentric occluder, thin waist occluder, symmetrical occluder, and all-nickel-titanium occluder. The septal defect occluder and the delivery device realized the localization of the occluder and its supporting equipment, and successfully reduced the operating cost to 1/3. Qin Yongwen also took the lead in proposing preoperative ultrasound "three-section" method, defined the screening indicators of occluder, reduced the blindness of interventional treatment of room and ventricular defects, and achieved 100% predictive surgical feasibility, making the success rate of interventional treatment more than 96%. .

It is understood that the research team first proposed the "photogram" classification of left ventricular angiography in the perimembranous ventricular septal defect, which provided a morphological basis for the shape design and individualized selection of the occluder. The occluder produced is more in line with the Orientals. Physiological characteristics, almost 100% of patent ductus arteriosus, 80% of atrial septal defect, 70% of patients with ventricular septal defect can be cured by catheter intervention. At present, the equipment has been promoted and applied in more than 200 medical units across the country.

Beeswax is obtained from the honeycombs of bees after the Honey has been removed by draining or centrifuging. The combs are melted with hot water, steam or solar heat; the melted product is filtered and cast into cakes of yellow beeswax. With detoxification, wound healing, tissue regeneration, pain relieving effect. Commonly used in the ulcer not healing, ecthyma erosion, ulceration of trauma, burn and scald.
