In the first half of the year, the quality and safety of agricultural products rose steadily

In 2011, the Ministry of Agriculture focused on severely cracking down on illegal addiction activities and organized six special campaigns to tackle “clenbuterol”, pesticide residues, raw milk, veterinary drugs, aquatic products, and agricultural capital crackdowns. In the first half of the year, the nation’s agricultural system mobilized more than 2.31 million law enforcement officers, inspected more than 1,677,000 related production and business units, banned 665 enterprises without licenses, revoked 4,171 corporate licenses, investigated and dealt with more than 26,000 issues, and investigated and handled 12,000 cases. Yu Yu, transferred to 146 judicial organs, arrested 178 people; organized 68,000 trainings and trained more than 6.71 million person times. Through the efforts of agricultural departments at all levels, the rectification work has achieved initial results. Illegal production, sales, and use of "lean meat" illegal activities have been effectively curbed, and restrictions on agricultural and veterinary drugs have been further tightened. The order of the agricultural capital market has continued to improve, and the quality of agricultural products has continued to improve. There has been a new increase in the level of safety.

According to the Ministry of Agriculture's routine monitoring results on the quality and safety of five major categories of 82 agricultural products, including vegetables, livestock products and aquatic products in 144 large and medium-sized cities in 31 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities) across the country, the passing rate of vegetables, livestock and poultry products and aquatic products They were 97.0%, 99.5%, and 97.1%, respectively. Vegetable and aquatic products increased by 0.8% and 0.5% respectively year-on-year, and livestock and poultry products remained flat. The qualified rate of "Clenbuterol" monitoring for livestock products was 99.5%, which was 0.2% higher than the same period of last year. It was the best level since monitoring. On the whole, the quality and safety of agricultural products in China have risen steadily, showing a good development trend.

The Ministry of Agriculture has informed the local agricultural departments of the monitoring results and asked all localities to carefully find out the causes of the problems identified in the monitoring, and follow up with the targeted supervision and spot checks on the quality and safety of agricultural products, and seriously deal with unqualified agricultural products and their production and operation enterprises. We thoroughly promoted six remediation actions including “Clenbuterol” and urged local governments to implement their supervisory responsibilities, strengthen efforts to highlight outstanding problems, strengthen source control, crack down on various illegal and irregular behaviors, comprehensively strengthen capacity building, and continuously improve the quality and safety supervision capabilities of agricultural products. We will strengthen the supervision of the bases, implement special monitoring, promote the system for granting access to agricultural product origins and market access, and ensure that quality and safety events of agricultural products do not occur during major events.
