China owns 81% of the wild species of Syringa and is the modern distribution center of Syringa. China's southwest, northwest, north and northeast regions are the main distribution areas for clove. The areas of Sichuan, Yunnan, and Tibet in the southwestern region are the important distribution areas of China's clove, naturally distributed in 13 species, accounting for about 50% of all wild resources. There are 7 wild species in the Hengduan Mountains in Sichuan and Chongqing. The northwestern regions including Inner Mongolia, Qinghai, Gansu, Shaanxi, and Shanxi are another important distribution area of ​​Chinese clove. There are 12 species of natural cloves, accounting for 44% of the total genus, and the remaining 11 are in the southwest and north China. Northeast is also distributed. [4]

In addition to China, Japan produces two species, Japanese clove is its endemic species; four species are produced on the Korean Peninsula, and one species is produced in Afghanistan. There are no endemic species. The Alps in the southeastern Europe and the Carpathian Mountains produce two kinds of European clove and Hungarian clove.
