According to reports, the current large-scale hybrid rice combination has a large difference between the male parent and the female parent. Most of the combinations are long in the male parent, and the female parent has a short growth period. The male parent (recovery) must be used in advance. After maternal (sterile line) breeding, and then by artificial transplanting to the production of large fields, such combined seed production is not only labor-intensive, but also easy to cause parents to spend the flowering period, affecting rice yield.

Under the support of the National Rice Industry System and the Hubei Provincial Special Project “Cultivation and Utilization of New Hybrid Japonica Rice Varieties Suitable for Mechanized Seed Production and Production”, the Zhu Renshan team joined the South China Agricultural University and the China Rice Research Institute to jointly cultivate “Easy Two”. Yuhuazhan's new combination, and successfully realized the live broadcast of the father and the mother in the same period in 2017, after a year of mechanized development, the final live broadcast of the machine.

Zhu Renshan said that the new combination of "Easy-Easy Huazhan" has remarkable characteristics. Because the male parent and the female parent planted at the same time, the same period of heading not only overcomes the obstacles of flowering infertility, but also ensures stable production and high yield. At the same time, the labor intensity is greatly reduced. Compared with the traditional seed production method, the labor cost is saved by nearly 90%, which greatly improves the production efficiency, and will play an active role in promoting the mechanized development of hybrid rice seed production in China.
