New technology is expected to achieve new breakthroughs in individualized vaccines

Medical Network April 13 Recently, researchers from the University of Queensland have developed a vaccination technology that accurately targets different types of cancer.
Ranjeny Thomas, a professor from the University of Queensland, said the technology has the potential to improve the accuracy of cancer immunotherapy, helping to better treat cancer and reduce harmful side effects.
"Developing a flexible cancer vaccine is a long-standing idea in the field of cancer immunotherapy," Professor Thomas said. "The cancer vaccine is one of the precise cancer treatments that stimulates the immune system to target killing cancer cells. Will affect other healthy cells of the body."
"Although there is a new type of tumor immunotherapy called checkpoint inhibitors that has achieved significant results in treating many types of cancer, they are only effective for a limited number of types of tumors, and they have many negative effects. The effectiveness and flexibility of cancer vaccines are very limited."
In this study, the author developed the "NanoEmulsion" technology to provide new ideas for cancer vaccination. "NanoEmulsion is a tiny carrier-encapsulated protein that specifically recognizes and binds to proteins on the surface of tumor cells," Professor Thomas said. "They can target specific immune cells and educate the latter to specifically recognize the molecular markers on cancer cells. Expand the attack."
Professor Riccardo Dolcetti from the University of Queensland said the method can improve the induction of precise immune responses targeting cancer cells.
