Broiler Early Spring Management

In early spring, chickens often huddled in cold chicken henhouses, and they self-adjust by breaking down body fat to produce large amounts of heat to withstand the cold or increase feed intake. This not only consumes constitution but also reduces feed conversion. Therefore, it is the top priority for the early spring feeding and management to do a good job of protecting the cold and heat insulation of chicken coops in the early spring. Specifically:

1. Increase the heat insulation layer of the chicken house

If the roof of the chicken house and the northern wall are found to be frosted, the insulation sheds should be increased. Use plastic sheeting or tar paper to increase the temperature barrier and block the north window. Wind barriers can also be provided to ease the cold wind in the proper place of the main wind from the house. The optimum temperature for laying eggs is 18~23°C, and the ideal temperature is 21°C. If it is lower than 13°C, the egg production of breeders will decline; if it is lower than 12°C, the growth and development of broilers will be seriously hindered. When the temperature is low, the fan speed can be reduced, reducing air circulation.

2. Pay attention to ventilation

In the beginning of spring, in order to keep warm, the windows are often closed and closed tightly, causing air pollution, humidity, and dampening of the mats; ammonia gas, hydrogen sulfide, carbon dioxide, methane, and skatole are doubled; dust and microbes are more than chickens. Health standards. Light on the chicken's feather growth and unfavorable to the feet, severe respiratory disease, broiler ascites and so on. Therefore, in the early spring chicken house should maintain a certain airflow speed (0.1 ~ 0.2 m / s), so that the ammonia concentration in the house does not exceed 200 mg / kg, hydrogen sulfide does not exceed 10 mg / kg, carbon dioxide does not exceed 0.5%, Meet the hygienic standards of the chicken house.

3. Adjust the feeding amount according to the temperature in due time

Chickens of the same condition have different energy requirements under different temperatures. In the early spring, broiler breeders can feed 150-170 grams of feed each day, increasing the feed heat energy to 12.1 to 12.3 MJ, which can meet the needs of low-temperature thermal energy. In case of cold currents, the temperature suddenly drops, and the chickens themselves cannot adjust the feed intake all at once. It will produce a great deal of stress. Therefore, attention should be paid to the weather forecast at any time. Adding 10 to 20 grams of feed to each chicken 1 to 2 days before the cold current lasts for 3 to 5 days, then the birds can get 112.86 to 142.12 kilojoules more to maintain body temperature. And egg production levels. For each temperature drop of 3°C, about 5 grams of feed should be added. After the cold has passed and the temperature has risen, the original amount of feed has been restored. At the same time pay special attention to the quality and quantity of various amino acids. Increase the proportion of high-energy feed in the feed, and appropriately reduce the protein content.
