1, lazy pepper seeds do not germinate

The seeds of some pepper seeds are sowed. The buds like to germinate. According to the author's practice and the case of other friends, the pepper seeds can be directly sowed without germination, and the seeds are buried completely, the water is permeable, and usually the small water is flooded to keep the soil moist and waiting for germination. .

2, germination method

The germination has the advantages of shortening the seed germination time and promoting the neat and rapid emergence of seedlings. Soaking seeds is often combined with the seed disinfection.

Commonly used soaking methods: In a clean small bowl or large bowl, put 50~55°C warm water, the water volume is 5 times the seed volume. Soak the seeds in warm water and keep stirring. When the water temperature drops to 30°C, stop stirring, then soak for 8-12 hours so that the seeds absorb enough water. Then the water is drained, the water is drained, wrapped in gauze, and then wetted on the outside. Sprouts or towels, placed in pots for germination. This method is called soaking in warm soup and has a bactericidal effect on pepper scab and sclerotia.

In the second method, the seeds can be soaked with fresh water for 5-6 hours and then soaked in 1% copper sulfate solution for 5 minutes or soaked with formalin (40% formaldehyde) 150 times for 15 minutes and then removed. Wash with water to germinate. This method prevents chili anthracnose and scab. The third method is to immerse seeds in clean water for 4 hours, remove them and then put them in 10% trisodium phosphate solution for 20-30 minutes, or use 2% sodium hydroxide solution to soak seeds for 15 minutes. This will passivate the activity of the virus on the seed.

The germination temperature of the pepper was 30°C. During the germination process, the seed bag must be frequently turned and rinsed with warm water every day so that it will be evenly heated. After 4 to 5 days, when the buds reach 60% to 70%, they can be sowed. Germination temperature can be controlled by using an incubator. Alternatively, the seed package can be placed next to the fire or warming the fire in the greenhouse. But be careful not to dry the seeds and keep the temperature and humidity even. After the buds are out, if there are special reasons for delaying the sowing period, the temperature can be lowered to between 5 and 10°C to maintain a cool environment around the seeds.
