In 1993, Liu Guangbing took a try and bought a group of small soft-shelled turtles in his own fish pond. He did not expect that this test would actually make money. Now he has a turtle breeding area of ​​more than 130 acres, with an annual output of more than 100,000 kilograms of turtles, a year down, earning five or six million yuan is not a problem. Relying on soft-shelled turtle farming, Liu Guangping not only bought a car, but also bought a house in town and in the city. "The original fishing was both hard work and no money. Now the income is several hundred thousand yuan." Liu Guangping said with a smile.

Under Liu Guangbing’s leadership, many villagers also raised turtles. In his spare time, Liu Guangbing got together with these farmers and taught him their breeding techniques without reservation.

In Xiangtang Town, Gong Xiaorong from Huangshan Village was the same as Liu Guangbing’s aquaculture and leading the villagers to get rich. In the area around Tong Town, the villagers raised more products and the price of fish has been rising because there are many people raising them. In 1995, Gong Xiaorong opened up another way to raise the fry. Because of the good water quality in the local area, the quality of fry raised was very popular in the market. Seeing the fry to make money, the villagers followed Gong Xiaorong into the fry breeding industry. For a time, the fry production increased rapidly and the market became a problem.

In order to open up the market, Gong Xiaorong began to act as a fry broker and went to the province to run markets in Guangdong, Fujian, and Zhejiang. In 2008, Gong Xiaorong joined two other brokers and invested RMB 1 million to set up a fishery company and adopt the “company + farmer” model of industrialized farming. The company will purchase fish species, feed, training, vaccines, and sales for farmers in a unified manner. It also provides loans for families in need.

“Farmers need only have good fish, feed us, and we can find and sell our products. We are also responsible for transportation.” Gong Xiaorong said that the company has driven more than 600 local farmers, and if they counted the farmers in surrounding counties and cities, they would add up to 3,000. Households. Now, the fishery company he has established has become the largest fishery supply base in Jiangxi Province, with an area of ​​5,000 mu of fish ponds and annual sales of more than 60 million yuan.

It is understood that, at present, Nanchang County has a total area of ​​175,000 mu of aquatic products, aquaculture production of nearly 11 million tons, more than 16,000 aquaculture farmers.
