At the same time, epithelial cells begin to constantly secrete a new internal surface! Skin, at this time the spider actually has two exoskeletons on the body surface. Then, along the front centerline of the body, the old epidermis is torn open and the old exoskeleton removed. The new exoskeleton is still very soft, and the body relies on the air or water to increase the pressure in the body to extend the volume for maximum growth from resistance. The new epidermis then softens and hardens, forming a new exoskeleton, and continuously increasing the thickness of the epidermis.
