Japanese eating habits are accused of wasting resources on the earth

Japanese eating habits are accused of wasting resources on the earth According to a report released by the World Health Fund (WWF) Japan Division on the 10th, if human beings adopt Japanese dietary habits, they will need 1.6 Earth resources to meet, which will add a huge burden to the Earth.

The report uses an “ecological footprint” indicator that represents the Earth's resources needed by a person in order to maintain a standard of living. Of the total land and marine resources required for making Japanese diets, only 24% are available in Japan, and the rest are imported from the United States, China, and other countries.

According to the report, if human beings adopt the Japanese dietary lifestyle, the calculation results show that by the year 2050, 1.64 earth resources will be needed to satisfy the situation. This state cannot be sustained.

WWF Japan said: "A large amount of food is wasted in Japan. Reducing only these food wastes can reduce the burden on the earth by a quarter in food production."
